The Dromex® industrial bump cap provides the head with protection in low-risk situations to reduce exposure to lacerations, abrasions and other
injuries such as minor bumps to the head. They are not intended to provide protection against the effects of falling or thrown objects.
An industrial bump cap should not be confused with an industrial safety helmet as per EN 397 standards. The low dome profile of the cap allows it to be worn with other PPE protection such as ear plugs, spectacles, goggles and respiratory masks.

It should not be used instead of an industrial safety helmet as specified in EN 397. This bump cap is made to absorb the energy of a blow by partial destruction or damage to the shell and the harness if fitted and even though such damage may not be readily apparent, any bump cap subjected to severe impact should be replaced. For adequate protection, this bump cap must fit or be adjusted to the size of the user’s head. The attention of users is also drawn to the danger of modifying or removing any of the original component parts of the bump cap, other than as recommended by the bump cap manufacturer. Bump caps should not be adapted for the purpose of fitting attachments in any way not recommended by the bump cap manufacturer. As required by European Health and Safety requirements the user is advised that when the bump cap is in contact with the user’s skin, it may cause allergic reactions to susceptible individuals. If this is the case the wearer should leave the hazardous area, remove the bump cap and seek a doctor’s advice. Actual conditions of use cannot be directly simulated in a test environment therefore it is the responsibility of the end user and not the manufacturer or supplier to determine the industrial helmet suitability for the intended use. Packaging, Storage & Obsolescence | Each Bump Cap is packed individually in a clear plastic packet and sold as 20 bump caps per box. When not in use or during transportation the bump cap should be stored in a container such that it is out of direct sunlight and not in contact with any chemicals, liquids, or sharp objects and will not become deformed by objects dropping onto it. It is not necessary to put the cap in a bag. The date of manufacture is marked on each bump cap. Store in a cool dry place. |
Cleaning & Maintenance | The bump cap is made to absorb the energy of a blow by partial destruction or damage to the shell and the harness if fitted, and even though such damage may not be readily apparent, any bump cap subjected to impact should be replaced. The bump cap should be examined daily for obvious signs of cracking, brittleness or damage and while the bump cap is free from defects it is suitable for its intended purpose. The polycotton top cap cover can be removed from the inner plastic bump cap mould. The bump cap should be cleaned and disinfected by wiping with a cloth moistened with a weak mild detergent solution. The bump cap can be hand washed and allowed to air dry. No strong or abrasive chemicals should be used if the bump cap cannot be cleaned by this method the bump cap should be replaced. It is recommended that the polycotton top cap be wiped or washed whilst on the bump cap mould to avoid difficulty in assembling the polycotton top cap to the bump cap mould |

Disposal | All industrial waste should be disposed of correctly according to local regulations and good disposal practice. Head protective devices should be disposed of considering the hazardous substances they were used for. Please consider recycling. |
